Beginner Drop Spindle

Class Description: Introduction to drop spindle spinning with all materials provided.

Landscape Needle Felting: Spring Tree

Class Description: Join me in learning how to use wool roving and felting needles to create a beautiful spring landscape. This class will teach you basic to intermediate 2D felting and color layering techniques. The finished piece will be an unframed 4 by 6-inch artwork. All supplies are included in the cost of the workshop. Felting tools will be available for use during the class.
Experience Level:
No experience needed, but the class will be interesting for experienced felters also.

Materials Provided: All materials will be provided, plus use of my tools during class. Students may bring fabric scissors and/or a 4 by 6-inch frame, if desired.
Meet your instructor: A crafter since childhood, Jennifer Costa discovered needle felting in 2020. She was hooked after the first few stabs! She enjoys landscape and three-dimensional felting. She sells her artwork through her website and at galleries in the NC mountains and Greensboro but is especially passionate about teaching others how much fun felting can be! Sticker Club

Class Description: Sticker Club is back at Craft Fest! This low-stress sticker party comes with no expectations and endless possibilities. Join Sally from Play More Charlotte and Erika from Creation Sake to release perfectionism and get your hands on literal tens of thousands of stickers. We’ll provide blank journals and cardstock picture frames for you to lovingly bedazzle with as many different stickers as your heart desires. Go monochrome or go rainbow! Embrace a theme or enjoy the freedom of full sticker chaos! We can’t wait to share this sticker joy with you!

Materials Provided: Thousands of stickers, blank journals, cardstock picture frames. Folks need not bring any materials with them.

3D Needle Felting: Easter Eggs

Class Description: Easter is around the corner! In this class we’ll cover foam eggs with wool, then decorate them. Choose from traditional Easter designs or come up with your own unique patterns. Each participant will have time to craft between 2 and 4 eggs.

Crochet 101

Class Description: Join this beginner friendly class crochet class, where you will be making a dish cloth. Pop out and learn a new skill or refine an old one. You get your very own kit for making a beginner level crocheted dishcloth to take home. This is for my DIY people, creatives, math wizards, socializers, and just folks looking for a new project! Make some new friends or bring your own, but most of all let’s have some fun.

Experience Level: Beginners at all levels are welcome.
Materials Provided: You will be provided with a pattern, crochet hook, stitch marker, and yarn for your project.
Meet your instructor: Jacqueline is a fiber artist with a focus on crocheting. She has been crocheting since she was an army wife back in 2014. She started small and now sells commissions, creates patterns, attends vending events and teaches. She loves to introduce people to the craft as it gives a sense of empowerment. CARDING CRAZY ART BATTS
Spinning Crazy Art Yarn from a Crazy Art Batts

Meet the Instructor: Silver’s grandmother introduced her to fiber arts very early in life, and her love and passion for them has continued to grow. After crocheting for more than 20 years, she decided to try spinning and quickly found her calling! Silver dyes, cards, spins, crochets, weaves, upcycles clothing, and is constantly exploring new techniques and ideas to make her art even more interesting! Class Description: Have you admired textured art yarns and wondered how to create them? In this class, we will learn to use a drum carder to make colorful art batts from various fibers and mix-ins like angelina and sari silk. You’ll create your own unique art batt!
Experience Level:
Beginner
Materials Provided: Various fibers (wool, alpaca, silk, bamboo, etc.) in different colors, plus mix-ins for added texture. Drum carders will be available for sharing. Please bring your imagination and a drum carder if you have one!

Class Description: In this class, you’ll learn how to take a crazy art batt and core spin it for maximum effect, creating a beautiful and one-of-a-kind art yarn!
Experience Level:
Intermediate (Students should know how to spin yarn on a spinning wheel. Beginners are welcome, but some skill is needed.)
Materials Required: You’ll choose a 3+ ounce crazy art batt from the collection the instructor will bring. Instructor will also be providing core yarn. You’ll need to bring your spinning wheel. Please bring a jumbo flier if you have one, the bigger your wheel’s orifice, the better!

Hand built Ceramic Succulent Pots

Class Description: Time to get your hands dirty and create your own custom functional ceramic art piece in this slab-built succulent pot class! This class is perfect for all skill levels as we explore form and texture while creating a new home for your favorite plant. All materials are provided and participants will have a choice of color from three glaze options.

Experience Level: This class is perfect for all skill levels!
Materials Required: All materials will be included, but students are welcome to bring something of their own for applied texture such as flowers, buttons, lace, etc.

Intro to Embroidery: Embroidered Pendants

Class Description: Make a mini sampler to get a feel for embroidery, then use your new skills to make an embroidered and beaded floral pendant or keychain!
Experience Level:
Beginner – no previous embroidery skills required. This is best suited for ages 10 and up.
Materials Provided: You will have access to a variety of beads and thread, and will take home a completed pendant with chain, a mini “stitch cheat sheet” booklet, and a mini sampler hoop.

Bead Craft Play

Class Description: Join Play More Charlotte for a free play bead craft experience like no other! Explore our enormous kandi bead bar and make bracelets, keychains, bag charms, bookmarks, or whatever bead creation your heart desires. (That’s “kandi” in the rave sense, friends. Our beads are not edible!) We’ve curated a wild and wonderful collection of beads for you to choose from, and we can’t wait to see what treasures you create.
Experience Level:
Not recommended for children under 10 due to the small size of the beads and the presence of needles.

Materials Required: Our truly enormous bead collection, work trays, clipboards, scissors, needles, string, key rings, print-outs with a few classic kandi options like the bead lizards from the 90s and kandi stars. Folks need not bring any materials with them!
